This year's export data is interesting. In 2023-24, India exported ceramic tiles worth Rs 21,066.69 crore. However, in 2024-25, this figure dropped significantly to only Rs 17,286.87 crore, a decrease of over Rs 3,780 crore.

Surprisingly, despite this decline in value, India expanded its exports to 187 to 200 countries. However, overall demand in major international markets declined.

📉 ​​What happened to Saudi Arabia?

Saudi Arabia, once India's second-largest tile market, has disappeared from the list of the top 12 exporters.

2022-23: 2nd place with exports of Rs 1,144 crore

2023-24: 11th place with Rs 605.86 crore

2024-25: 18th place with only Rs 307.46 crore

Possible reasons for this decline:

Increase in local tile production under the "Made in Saudi" initiative

Changes in customs duties and anti-dumping regulations

Increasing competition from other countries such as Turkey and China, offering cheaper alternatives

As a result, Saudi Arabia has completely disappeared from the top 12 Indian tile exports by 2024-25.
